Working with Animals

The visit to the Cats Protection UK Cat Centre was an engaging and educational experience for the Year 9 pupils, sparking their interest in animal welfare and rescue work.

As they toured the facility, they gained valuable insights into the daily operations of a cat rescue centre, including the crucial roles played by the hospital and isolation wing in the care and rehabilitation of cats.

The pupils were tasked with creating a re-homing poster for one of the cats awaiting adoption—a challenge that required them to gather information and capture photos independently. This hands-on project not only honed their research and creative skills but also deepened their empathy and understanding of the work involved in finding loving homes for these animals.

The completed posters will be reviewed by Cats Protection volunteers, providing the pupils with constructive feedback that can further enhance their learning experience.
