School meals at Saxon Mount are provided by Chartwells. Menus run on a three-week rotation and are changed in Term 2 and 5 each year. You can pay for school meals at ParentPay - Leading Cashless Payment System for Schools and they are currently priced at £3.06 per day. Pupils will select their lunch choice each day during tutor time.
Please see the current menu below.
For every child eligible for free school meals the school receives £1,075 per child in additional funding from East Sussex County Council per year. This money is vital to the school in order to develop the right support for our children. Without this money the school is not able to provide all the additional services we would like to.
If you think you may be entitled to Free School Meals, even if your child does not want to eat a school dinner, please check your elibility at the following website - Free school meals | East Sussex County Council
Free school meals are not provided automatically. You have to apply.
Children in Year 3 and above can get free school meals if their parents or carers get certain benefits. These benefits include:

Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) - GOV.UK
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 - GOV.UK
Child Tax Credit - GOV.UK (your yearly income must be below £16,190.)
From the start of the 2026/27 school year, the Department for Education will extend entitlement to free school meals to include all children from households in receipt of Universal Credit.
